BT Tower £14 Million Thank You

BT £14 Million Event

Thank you all for helping us reach £14 million raised for Flying Start since the partnership between British Airways and Comic Relief began in 2010. As one of many thank you events we are hosting over the next month, we invited a select group of VIP customers to join us at the BT Tower in London. Mark and crew  Gabby and GaryWe were also joined by celebrities including Gary Lineker, Michelle Keagan, Mark Wright and Darcy Bussel, amongst others. Head of Customer Abi Comber and Troy Warfield, Director of Customer Experience also attended the event.

This year alone over £2.7 million has already been raised for Comic Relief, through on-board donations and colleague challenges. Look out for us around different LHR bases throughout December as we will be coming to say thank you to all our champions who have helped us reach this milestone!

Director of Customer Experience Troy said: “I am incredibly proud of all that we have achieved and hope you take a moment to reflect on the difference we’ve made to the lives of children across the world.Mark and Michelle

“Whether it’s through donations or participating in a fundraising activity, your efforts have been remarkable.”

This year, Flying Start has supported a number of projects, including local charities across the UK through the Big Charity Choice and Sport Relief, and introduced new ways for customers to donate on-board through the virtual gift and donating a percentage of the proceeds from the sales of ‘Buddy’ – a soft toy introduced on-board last month.

Troy added: “As part of our Plan4 a safe, reliable and responsible operation, we’ve committed to raise £20 million for Flying Start by 2021. Next year will see a number of new developments supporting Flying Start, including a new on-board video, refreshed collection envelopes, Big Charity Choice and how to make 2017 the biggest and best in our history.”
