On 7th of September George Milliangan and Kelvin Govus started their long 1,390 mile journey from the Tower of London to Gibraltar they raised over £5,000 for charity including Flying Start, they were supported by Alistair Middleton and Grahame Miles. Piers Carroll Vice Chairman of Saints helped support the boys with a van a ful for this fantastic event
Christine Thomson and the team at B.A.C.E. The boys rode a fantastic 1390miles over 16days! One of the riders had a few words to say below:
“The idea was find two points of interest which turned out to be the tower of London(home of the crown jewels)to what I regard to be the jewel of the Mediterranean Gibraltar! Right so now we have our start and finish it’s time to plan the routes you plan sections of your ride mile by mile (plenty of late nights). Now for the bits in between, is it to many miles, to long a climb and will we make that hotel?
So after what felt like an age the theory was all in place well it is theory till it’s done, I mentioned to Christine Thomson my idea and she said why not for charity? It’s a good opportunity to raise money so that started the ball rolling.
On Wednesday 7th of September we set off on our 16 day adventure and all I can say is stunning all the way in fact STUNNING just can’t describe the trip we had even BREATHTAKING is an understatement! But it will live with me for a life time or till the next trip?.
Well we did get there after 1390 miles over 16 days and raising over £5000 so not bad at all.”
Well done from all of us at Flying Stat to George and Kelvin for completing this amazing feat and raising £5,000!
